Our team has assisted vulnerable members of society by shopping and providing food services.

Elderly citizens from the Miami Gardens Lake Lucerne Community who were not able to visit the supermarket by providing groceries and delivering it to their homes. Referrals were received from the Lake Lucerne Crime Watch Association President.

SMALL BUSINESS ASSISTANCE
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering a Paycheck Protection Program which gives businesses a loan to keep their workers on the payroll. Small business with less than 500 employees (including sole proprietorships, independent contractors and self-employed persons), private non-profit organization or 501(c)(19) veterans organizations affected by coronavirus/COVID-19.
Loans are forgivable if all employees are kept on the payroll for eight weeks and the loan is used for payroll, rent, mortgage interest, or utilities. The application is available through June 30, 2020. For more information, please visit SBA Funding Programs.

UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE
Beginning Wednesday, April 8, the Miami-Dade Public Library System (MDPLS) will be providing printed copies of Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) Reemployment Assistance Applications. Applications are available in English, Spanish and Creole will be available for pickup outside the library entrances from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. seven days a week until further notice. Applications can be completed and drop off in the book drop. Applications will be picked up and delivered to CareerSource South Florida staff who will forward them to DEO. You can also download and print a copy of the application from DEO's website and return it to any participating library’s book drop.

As families continue to navigate the challenges faced as a direct impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, there's an increasing demand for food assistance. We've complied a list of resources to assist families in need during this time.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami - Anyone 60 years of age or older residing in Miami-Dade County that is in need of meals can contact our Congregate Meals program directly for enrollment. For registration in the program, please call (305)751-5203.
Farm Share - Food distributions are conducted through partner agencies. Visit
http://farmshare.org/food-distributions/ for a listing of the upcoming distribution sites.
Feeding South Florida - serves Miami Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe County residents. Access is provided to the food pantry and home delivery is available for qualified individuals. Jewish Federation's JCS Kosher Food Bank - Drive thru-style service is provided for food distribution. To make an appointment or for more information, call (305) 947-8093.
